SHARE YOUR MUSICAL SKILLS Give
lessons through the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
They'll match you up with a student for one-on-one
instruction at an after-school care program.

GAIN
PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE Stage
presence only comes through performing. You'll find
an enthusiastic audience at senior centers and
after school care programs.
COMPOSE Write an
original composition for your favorite cause. Music
adds impact to a non-profit's
website or multi-media presentation.
If you're fortunate enough to be near a college,
seek a student-mentor to help you record and save
your piece as an MP3 file
using the college facilities. Consider teaming up
with another volunteer interested in contributing
their technical skills for the project.
FIND A NONPROFIT NEAR YOU Finding
a non-profit to offer these or other volunteer services
to can take some research. Some state
associations include a member directory on their
website. Find yours at the National
Council of Nonprofit Associations. Two excellent
networks to explore are the Volunteer
Center National Network and Idealist.org including
their kids
and teen center.
